Episode 2 from the Frozen North

The former owner in the US had a bad trailer day where some damage was done to the aluminium tower and the port curved front window. No big deal if your a woodywoodworker. After making a frame using the good side, he placed a piece of laminate onto the mold and applied heat with a heat gun adding more clamps as he went. Let it cool and trimmed to final shape. The four pics should clarify the process.

I think I now have the pics (4) up. The hardest part was making the mold with the right amount of over bend, it wants to straighten when it cools.

Just spoke to Doug, the laminate of choice is lexan. I believe it comes tinted as desired, the thickness would be set by the frame it goes into. To be continued.
