    Never seen one. Is it possible. This would save a lot of work and problems on my next 20'er.

    Yes. They're called jack shafts. I don't know about just 1 u joint by it's self. Boats with vee drives used them before they went to transmission plus reverse transfer combo units.

      Often wondered the same thing. We use them on our Steamboats. You would want to incorporate a hanger bearing and a cage/strap as well.
