Tired of being passed

No gas from the pump. Mechanical pump. Did I put it on wrong? Did it dry out sitting for years? Anything to do before taking it off? When I remove the hose at the carb and hold my finger over it while turning the engine over, I feel no pressure.

Diaphragm ripped or dryed out. That's my guess.

See if you feel suction on the inlet side before removing the pump.
