Is it too early to start planning a flounder/croaker get together?

I have to come. I'm only allowed 3 fish if I can find 18" fish at all in my part of the world without going 10 miles offshore. That,s 40 minutes to inlet, another 15 to 40 minutes to fishing spot for 3 fish IF I can catch 18" fish. When? And where?

I'll make sure I bring a 20 this time. Wachapreague is good place to hang out. Are there any bay side ramps close by. I don't know when, or where, the croaker run is but if we are there then it would be good to get a cooler full.

I would like to do Wachapreague again if that works. I would like to add a 7 mile trip out to the man made reef and a day trip to Tangier Island. Would that work for you all?

What time frame are we looking to do this??? I plan on making a trip to my hunting camp in the next few weeks and if you wish I can drive to Wachapreague as it's only about one hour from my hunting camp and ask the best time frame to catch Flounder..Or is it Croaker that you would rather target. Croaker can be caught in the Chesapeake Bay. I don't know of anyone going to Wachapreague to catch Croaker but I am no expert on Croaker fishing at Wachepreague. I can also ask about Croaker if I go to Wachepreague.......The weekend of June 10/11 is no good for me as my son is getting married on the 10th of June.

Clyde, read through some of the fishing reports at Don's bait shop and see if you can get an idea. You could call them also and they "might" tell you the truth.

Steve, I would rather drive the difference from my hunting camp to Wachepreague and ask someone face to face and maybe I will get an honest answer.....It's easy to BS someone on the phone or on the internet but face to face I think I stand a much better chance of getting the truth.

They are on the left halfway between 13 and the hotel we stayed at.

Steve, I sent Don's Bait Shop an email yesterday requesting info on the best time to Flounder fish and Croaker fish. I also asked him if we might need to fish the western side of route 13 and fish in the Chesapeake rather than the Wachepreague Bays for Croaker but that either way we would be buying our bait and tackle needed from him.....Hopefully he tells me the truth.

Well it's been almost a week since I sent the email to Don's Bait Shop and I've gotten no response whatsoever. Kinda thought this might be the case but thought it might be worth a try. Since he didn't answer my email I'm hesitant to make a phone call because I'm afraid he won't give me a true answer.....What do you think????

Forget Dons. Lets do some investigating. I know there are people from NC that make the trip every year and come back with ridiculous amounts of large croakers. I'll try and find out more. I have my engine in the 20 and I'm ready to go.
