  • 2020 Emerald Isle, Good Guys Get Together

After a 2 year break, we are resuming the get togethers. May 8, 9, 10 here in Emerald Isle. The usual schedule. Arrive my place on Friday around 5 PM, eat drink and just plain hang out with good people. Same thing on Saturday. Saturday mid day is open. We can hang at the shop and look over all my junk, have some lunch and B.S. Beach, boat, or do the tourist thing. If you are still around on Sunday, we have plenty of food left and plenty of conversation. Can hang at my house all day, go to the beach or whatever. Menu will be listed later. Don't bring anything but what you drink. Unless there are special things you need. Want something or have a suggestion, let me know. It is more than 6 months away so make your plans and get reservations. There is a new motel in town. Lighthouse Inn and Suites. Don't know anything about them and I don't make recommendations. Ask about a particular place and someone or I will give an opinion if you haven't been here before. Let the good guys roll.
I will need a count so when you are sure, please let me know you are coming and for what days and how many people. Family and friends are all welcome. Don't bring your drunkin uncle Herb though. This is a family thing.

With our daughter and her family living in Durham now, I would have found a way to make this gathering. Unfortunately, we have six month old reservations to tour the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas with another couple that week. Maybe next time.

        regards Holty

Spent 10 days touring that area. Lot of rocks and dirt.

                  Holty,

From the picture I think he was more interested in impressing Betty.

Rented a boat on Lake Powell. Was April and were not many boats there. Different. Stayed in Page. Hotel was the best of our trip. I believe it was a Marriott. The staff was all Navajo and the best anywhere. Sonoma was good for a day. Scottsdale is Ft. Lauderdale without the water. Frank Loyd Wright house was cool. I now know what they mean when they say "wide open country". Can drive for hours without seeing a building. EVERY DAY!!!!

Lake Powell .... In 1975 buddy and I went cross country with a hang glider on top and two sets of scuba in the back of a '74 VW Super Beatle! Went scuba diving in the lake just to say I did it, plus water skied. (Visited a friend from Wilmington NC.) Even flew paper airplanes off the top of the dam! (I have pictures!) Ahhhh y'all took me back.....

Going to miss you Holty! Can you spell "RESCHEDULE"....

I sold my Gelding and now I lost my mating job on the Doc’s boat too. Can I still be a guy, maybe not a good guy but an average guy.
I will understand if I am an outcast. But Terry and I will be at the same hotel as last time. 5/8-12.
please have a little sympathy. I went for the off shore gig and sold my boat.
