State park cabins with a good boat ramp. What is the fishing like in August or September?

I stay in these cabins every year in December. Never been in September or August.

What is it like in December. Can you leave the boat on the trailer at the ramp lot? Trying to find a place where I don't have to fold the tower every day. How far a run to the ocean?

i lived in Wachapreague for 12 years. The fishing is great late august sept. Bring wire line and live line for monster flounder over the tunnel tube. Seabass fish at the triangle wrecks. The pilings offer some great fishing. The concrete ships offer great fishing on some days.

Rock Bottom, Lucky Duck, I assume that there is no place to leave the boat in the water. Can you leave it at the ramp parking lot and are there any overhead lines. I'm looking to rent a cabin for 4 or 5 nights. December is good with me if I can catch some stripers

Inside the state park it’s a quick hop to the ramp with no overhead lines. Less than 5 minutes at 25mph. We recover daily and the cabins have plenty of parking to back your entire rig in the driveway. We stay at Kiptopeke. In fact, we leave two boats on the trailer attached to the tow vehicles at the cabin. Still have room.

We went down rigged for bobbing eels and trolling umbrella rigs. Didn’t catch monsters, so we wound up trolling rigs and caught 12 keepers over the 4 days I was there.

My brother and a very good family friend fish the lower end of the bay in December, and they kick a$$ with the striper. Sometimes it can get fairly chilly. Definitely warmer than hunting deer in Wisconsin. Just sayin.

Keep in mind starting in sept. you start to get more blow days than calm.

Well, the group of guys I usually go with finally booked a cabin in Kiptopeke. 12/8-12/15. We'd love to see someone come down there with a shamrock that week since mine will be home on the trailer.

Yeah, stripers played nice last year. Didn’t catch the monsters, but we ate fresh fish. I’m not interested in bobbing eels anymore, so trolling it is.
