No, he is a new bird that she trapped this fall. As an apprentice, she couldn't keep the first couple birds, she had to release them after she trained them. When they trap a new bird, it must be a yearling. This bird is male and is about half the size of Peep which was female. Males are smaller in red tail hawks which is what he is.Atlantic City, NJ

Believe it or not, it's a store bought perch. There are a lot more falconers than I ever thought. You can buy almost everything you can think of. The hoods, leather straps for their feet, and gloves(Not welding-lol). All made specific to falconing. There a lot of other things I wouldn't have even thought about.Atlantic City, NJ
