      • No, he is a new bird that she trapped this fall. As an apprentice, she couldn't keep the first couple birds, she had to release them after she trained them. When they trap a new bird, it must be a yearling. This bird is male and is about half the size of Peep which was female. Males are smaller in red tail hawks which is what he is.

                            • Believe it or not, it's a store bought perch. There are a lot more falconers than I ever thought. You can buy almost everything you can think of. The hoods, leather straps for their feet, and gloves(Not welding-lol). All made specific to falconing. There a lot of other things I wouldn't have even thought about.
