Thanks folks. She was acting like a puppy at 9 years old as we took her into the vets. Never thought it was anything but a stomach virus. Damn cancer just snuck up on us.

Really sorry to read this Skip. Our Pets become one of the family. I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby when my Chocolate Lab "Hershey" died and then 2 years later had to put my Yellow Lab "Ruddy" down because he couldn't get up anymore to go outside to go to the bathroom. Hang in there Buddy, there will be better days. Get yourself another pup not to take her place, but to ease your pain.

My condolences Ship! We had the same thing happen to our 7 year old female. It's tragic. But you gave her the best life she could ever dream of, I'm sure! Let that frame your thoughts.

Sorry for your loss Ship. I recently had to put down my golden so know how you feel. A dog lover friend told me to Google The Rainbow Bridge after our loss of our beautiful companion. Says it all.
