  • Boat Abuse – Hate it!

I’m At a loss for words… When I arrived home heard this loud noise and wasn’t sure if it was a chain saw or outboard. Had to go to the shop for a few minutes and the noise persisted at a high RPM. Eventually went out back to investigate and saw this guy trying to dredge his way across a sandbar in a Carolina Skiff at near low tide. Watched for a few more minutes, the guy hardly ever reduced RPM! Rather than stepping out in shallow water and pulling the boat 50 feet he was letting her chew sand. SO unnecessary and abusive! When he eventually cleared the bar he was running hard. Buyer beware!

Some people have no respect for what they have, I hate the 'everything's disposable' mentality of today...

I agree Karen. It is as if we are getting too lazy to take care of things and have no appreciation for the work that went into getting the money to purchase nice things. There is no pride in proper maintenance and operation.. Even if I won the lottery wouldn't abuse machinery and would take the time to learn how to properly take care of equipment. Even people who cant afford the "disposable" mentality have it. Are they just not smart?!!

Sorry for the rant. I just see this stuff all too often...
