  • 30+ Years of Marriage

So, in our 30+ years of marriage my wife has never taken a trip without me for more than a day or two. I have on business, but not her. So, she and some lady friends decide to take a week-long trip. During the week we talk and text and are looking forward to her return. Last night our dog and I drove to a nearby town to pick her up. When we arrive she is inside the friend’s house and I park with the driver’s side door away from the house. She hears us and comes running out of the house towards the driver’s side, but when she is in front of the vehicle sees the dog and immediately reverses course and runs to the other side, opens the door, wraps her arms around the dog and they smother each other in kisses!

The worst part, I totally understand….

Ditto on my marriage as well. 49 in May. Jerry , congratulations. My poor wife was sainted shortly after we got married. Does Linda have St. In front of her name? Me thinks it's a good possibility!!? Wink wink.

A quick story about the beginning of my marriage. We had an auto accident two days after our honeymoon so we needed a car cheap. Got a VWbug which I drove to work 30 miles away. It was tired when we got it so two months later it dies. My wife's sainthood now becomes evident. I pulled the car into the side yard and rolled it on its side and removed the engine which I then carried to the dinner table and rebuilt.. oh did I say we lived in an apartment and didn't have access to a garage or anything else. She didn't leave me only because I was done by Monday and didn't miss any work.

I think I know the root cause of that chronic back problem...
