I'm not very good at asking for help but, this site costs about $400 a year with GoDaddy and VBulletin. Anyone wishing to help out please paypal to [email protected] or mail to Jerry Anderson , PO Box 4281, Emerald Isle, N.C., 28594. Never a charge to join here and never any ads. Everyone gets treated the same whether or not you choose to help out. No contributing members or special anything will be posted.
    Thank you for understanding, Jerry

May I ask why it is so expensive? VBulletin is free, domain registration $20 or so. What are the hosting fees? As I mentioned before... I run my own commercial web server, and may be able to help with that aspect.

Is it GoDaddy hosting at $30/month?

She had assumed that you bought the program, not a yearly subscription to the cloud. Double edged sword. You will get the updates free every year, but you will pay every year. I've not attempted to do anything with a forum, so I have no knowledge of how much the program changes every year, and so don't know which is best for you. I don't mind either way, for what it is worth.

This brings up a good question. Do I need to do something? Upgrades?

Only if you see the need for something different. I like it as is. Think of this site like our boats... simple, practical and dependable....bells and whistles might catch your eye but they don't make the boat float any better.
